Nadayara



Nadayara, our village where history of water based transport, trade & business sleeps. Apart from the history, a well known place to Islamic scholars. Geographically, center of Nadayara has interlinked with Varkala Municipality and both Elakamon & Chemmaruthy Panchayaths. The historical underground water way (Varkala Thurappu), Shivagiri Mutt, S.N College and Mannania Islamic University are few nearby landmarks. Besides, Nadayara Muslim Jama Ath is considered as one of the largest Jama Aths in Thiruvananthapuram districts due to the increased number of family and members. Currently, more than 2000 Muslim families are inhabited in the surrounding areas of Nadayara Jama Ath and every family is a member in the Jama Ath.

Nadayara, a Muslim populated village surrounded by non-muslim neighboring villages where people are committed to protect the harmony of life in every aspects. So far there is no single incidents caused to the communal harmony. Considering all the surrounding challenges and characteristics, a blessed village where harmonized living persists and preserved! Proudly we say, our village remains as one of the best examples for communal harmony among all other villages in the whole state of Kerala. Nadayara Masjid, The mausoleum of karamoottil thangal, Government School and Nadayara Lake are the leading factors add more values to the village, people and taking the name ‘Nadayara’ beyond boundaries.
